The Power of Prayer

Prayer is very popular, regardless of which religion you follow. In the book of James 5:16, the Bible tells us that "Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much." There are many places throughout the Bible where God is telling us through different people that we need to pray earnestly and He will hear our requests.

Many times, God may not answer certain prayers, but this does not mean that He did not hear them because the Bible tells us that God does hear all our prayers, in 1 John 5. God's will does not always match what we want and it is important for us to understand that everything is according to His will for our lives. Daniel 4:35 tells us that "All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, But He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand or say to Him, What have You done?"

There are so many accounts of how prayer has been powerful, both in the Bible and in different individuals' lives. James 1:5 tells us "If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking." Our heavenly Father is waiting to hear our prayers and it is up to each individual to follow His will for his/her life.
